Select a snake plant leaf. 

The leaf must to be at least 6 inches long and unharmed.

Cut the leaf only an inch or so from the plant's base.

Make a small cut in the leaf's bottom. This will aid in the formation of the roots.

Put the leaf in the water-filled glass or container. The depth of the water should be about one inch.

Place the glass or jar in a well-lit area away from the sun.

The leaf roots will begin to appear after two to three months. Change the water  Every week

Plant the leaf in potting mix once the roots are about 2 inches long.

Well-watered plants should be allowed to drain.

Place the plant away from direct sunlight in a bright area.
